Sky Go for Android Tablets is now available to download in the Play Store. Up until now you had to have an iPad to use Sky’s mobile video streaming App on a tablet. Sky claims that the App is compatible with the majority of Android tablets that are 7 inches or larger and running Android 4.0 or later.

You can stream video over Wifi and 3G/ 4G but if you have a rooted device you are going to be out of luck. We also heard that during Beta testing the Asus Transformer Pad tablets were unable to stream content properly but we’ve yet to confirm if that issue has been resolved for the official release.

Here’s an overview of the features that will be available:

* Our on demand catalogue includes over 800 movies, hundreds of entertainment programmes and a great range of kids shows
* Watch up to 54 live TV channels depending on your subscription
