Dublin’s iconic building no longer need to queue at its numerous cafés, restaurants, bars and visitor attractions. They now have the ability to order ahead and pay directly from their smartphone.
CHQ is located in Dublin’s dockland, and as they often host events as well as being home to EPIC, The Irish Emigration Museum and Dogpatch Labs, the restaurants and bars can be very crowded.
“CHQ is thriving day in and day out especially at lunchtimes. We noticed that over the past 12 months the queues have been growing to extreme lengths at peak periods, so we set out with the help of Dogpatch Labs and Innovation postgrads at Trinity College to find the right solution. All evidence pointed towards a solution that would allow customers to order ahead and skip the queues. The team at Mastercard has helped us do just that” said Suzanne Heery Director at CHQ Dogpatch Labs.

It is now possible to make mobile payments to any of the venu’es outlets like J2 Sushi % Tea, The Bakehouse, Seven Wondres, Toss’d and Freshii. With Qkr! costumers can also buy souvenirs in the gift shop of the museum.
It has never been so easy to order.
Heery added:“Qkr! enables our retailers to provide the best customer service while managing queues and capacity during the busy lunchtime hours. We want to embrace technology to ensure that all our tenants can continue to provide excellent customer service.”
The app is already used in food chains such as wagamama and Zizzis in the UK, saving time for customers and waiters alike.
Qkr’s versatility is evidenced in its varied use around the world, from The Open in the UK, to the Copa America football tournament in South America, or paying for schools meals in Australia. The app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
