You can now gain highly transferrable skills that you can apply to any professional context (transversal skills) by completing a flexible online course.

Combine six modules to gain a TU Dublin – UCD Professional Diploma in Transversal Skills (Level 9 NFQ).

These courses are free / 90% subsidised for eligible applicants through support from the Government of Ireland’s July Stimulus Provision 2021. Applications are on a rolling basis until each course is full.

How to Apply for the Professional Diploma in Transversal Skills

If you are applying for the full six-module TU Dublin – UCD Professional Diploma in Transversal Skills proceed to  https://www.ucd.ie/registry/prospectivestudents/admissions/graduateapplicants/applying/

Under How do I Apply?  click the blue ‘Apply to UCD’ button OR if you have an existing UCD account,  select the ‘Sign into Existing Account’ option.

Click ‘Start a New Course Application’ option on the left-hand column

Login or create an account.

On the page that reads Application for [Your Name], scroll down to the Course section and click on ‘Select a Course.’

In the Filter Options type, either ‘Transversal Skills’ or ‘F205’ in the box and the course option should appear as an option in the box below.

Complete all sections of the application form (Academic Record, Employment History, General Questions)

In the application checklist, you will be asked to upload a number of different documents. These are listed here.

An up to date CV

A letter of motivation (1 page)

A copy of your academic transcript or parchment

Your relevant employment status verification

A copy of your passport

 Applying for One or More Standalone Short Course Modules:

(Note: If you are applying for one or more short courses with TU Dublin and one or more short courses with UCD, you will need to complete both steps 1 and 2 below.)

Follow the steps presented to apply

If you are applying for a short course with UCD:

go to this link: https://www.ucd.ie/registry/prospectivestudents/admissions/graduateapplicants/applying/

Follow the steps above except for step 6. Instead in the Filter Options type CK02 in the box and the ‘Occassional’ course option should appear as an option in the box below.

You will not be required to upload a Letter of Motivation for a short course.

As this is a joint programme between University College Dublin and Technological University of Dublin, your data will be required to be shared between both institutions in order to be registered as a student of both.

If English is not your first language an English language qualification is required for admission to all of our courses. The exception to this rule is if you have completed your primary degree or an entire third level qualification through English, in an English speaking country. As this programme is funded by the HEA, priority will be given to those applicants in the priority groups of jobseeker, returner, previously self employed or in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment. Candidates who are currently in employment will be informed of the success of their application seven days prior to the course starting.
