When and where is it on?

It is on April 6th & 7th, RDS Hall 4

How many years has it been going?

First year in Ireland, but Shift conferences have been organised in other countries from almost ten years

What was the inspiration to start it?

The original inspiration for starting the Shift Conference series came from the time when I was the young cofounder of the startup Codeanywhere. With Codeanywhere we traveled all over the world to pitch at conferences and startup competitions, the positive energy and vibe at those events inspired me to create my own.

Thats also way at almost every event we also have a Startup Challenge as well, it’s a chance to give back to the younger generation of entrepreneurs.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

We are bringing the brightest and the minds from the world of Artificial Intelligence together, here in Dublin, Ireland. Speakers, Startups and partners from around the world will all be in Dublin for these 2 days.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

Shift is fairly unique in it’s laid back almost lounge-like atmosphere, because of the size and way it is setup, you can meet anyone and everyone there, including the speakers. As they wont be hidden away but rather part of the event and you bump in to them at the event after their talk.

Who will be speaking?

There will be 40 speakers, but currently we have confirmed Hassan Sawaf Director of AI Research at Facebook AI, Ashley Casovan Executive Director at AI Global, Lin Huang Director of Data Science & Engineering at Reddit, Kairan Quazi of Intel, Sebastian Wieczorek Vice President of Machine Learning at SAP, Ashish Bansal AI Leader at Twitter Kathy Baxter Ethical AI Practice at Salesforce

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Be open, introduce yourself, everyone at Shift is here to meet, no matter who they are, if they’re at the event and you wan to met them, walk up and say “hi”.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Via our website https://ai.shiftconf.co/#tickets they usually sell out 2-3 weeks before the event
