IAB Ireland has announced that Shane Nolan has been appointed Chair of IAB Ireland. IAB is the trade association of the digital advertising industry in Ireland, representing an ecosystem which includes digital media owners & publishers, media & creative agencies, digital advertising networks & sales houses, and digital consultancies. Shane Nolan is Director of New Business Sales, EMEA at Google.
Commenting on his appointment, Shane Nolan said; “The digital advertising industry continues to enjoy significant growth each year and the role of IAB is to help ensure that all players share in this success. Our members work closely with marketers across Ireland to ensure that they can identify the best role for online in building their brands and we all work to promote the highest standards in digital advertising.
“IAB is committed to ensuring that digital advertising standards in Ireland meet international best practice and as part of the IAB Europe network we are working with our industry colleagues across Europe to ensure the user experience in a digital media world is a positive one. IAB is also an active supporter of initiatives such as the Coalition for Better Ads which is dedicated to improving consumers’ experience of online advertising.
“I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members as we continue to deliver a responsible, innovative and high growth digital advertising industry in Ireland.”
Commenting on Mr Nolan’s appointment, Suzanne McElligott, CEO of IAB Ireland said, “Shane Nolan has made a very positive contribution to IAB Ireland as board member since his appointment in June 2012, and we are delighted that he is now taking on the role of chairman. We look forward to working with him and the board to deliver IAB’s remit to prove, promote and protect Ireland’s online advertising industry”.
