When and where is it on?

The fourth and last 2019 SEP Scaleup Summit will take place on December 10-11th Bolsa de Madrid.

How many years has it been going?

The Scaleup Summits started in March 2018. Please visit our website for more information.

What was the inspiration to start it?

The Scaleup Summits are highly curated, invitation only, matching activities hosted by the most prestigious Stock Exchanges with the aim of gathering international corporates, investors and scaleups operating in specific verticals to make them  do business and spot technology trends.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

The Summits provide qualified opportunities for scaleups to initiate commercial and strategic opportunities with senior corporate decision makers, extend their rolodex by adding international investors, assess IPO and private placement options together with specialists from the Stock Exchange, in addition to high-quality networking and benchmarking with peers and innovation leaders.

On the other hand, corporates can meet the most interesting international startups/scaleups in a 1:1 setting and find “ready to be deployed” solutions to innovate their business, beyond getting data and benchmarks.

Coming soon, SEP Scaleup Summit, December 10th -11th,

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

The event this year will also host the prestigious “SEP Europe’s Corporate Startup Stars Awards (CSS) 2019”, the annual ranking produced by Mind the Bridge and Nesta under the European Commission’s Startup Europe Partnership initiative, that recognises the most active corporates in terms of open innovation. A CSS Open Innovation Forum and an Award Ceremony will take place on the first day (the latter during the Gala Dinner).

In addition, even this time in Madrid, specific sessions – the “Vertical Deep Dives” – will be organized, covering hot tech trends based on the following industries: Automotive, Manufacturing 4.0, e-energy solutions, Construction & Design, Oil & Gas and Smart Cities.

Finally, a new “Tech Scaleup Spain” Report by Mind the Bridge and a series of deals closed by partners in an open innovation perspective will be presented.

Who will be speaking?

The Summit opening will include an intro by Javier Hernani Burzaco, CEO, Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, followed by a special CIO talk (names will be unveiled in the upcoming days).

In the afternoon, representatives from specific vertical markets will also be presenting the innovative areas they’re scouting projects for. The Summit will be focused above all on 1:1 meetings and vertical deep dives alongside with investor/CV panel and more.

On Dec. 11th don’t miss the CVC Talk with Josep Celaya González, Global Head of Transformation, MAPFRE,  Suzanna Chiu, Head of Amadeus Ventures, Amadeus IT Group, Sabrina Jones, Strategic Partnerships and Open Innovation, Robert Bosch Venture Capital (RBVC), and Michiel Van Haersma Buma, Senior Implementation Manager, Shell Ventures.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

First of all we suggest you the Corporate Startup Stars Awards that recognise the most active corporates in terms of open innovation. In addition to the general ranking with the first three best places, numerous awards and special prizes will be assigned.

Secondly, we would recommend you to check the 2019 “challenges” and verticals that specific corporates will be presenting in order to find innovative solutions. At the moment these will cover:  Automotive, Manufacturing 4.0, e-energy solutions, Construction & Design, Oil & Gas and Smart Cities.

Once you’ve realized you’re the right player in the right place, we strongly recommend you to schedule all your meetings in advance, whether you’re a scaleup, a corporate, or an investor, through the networking software we offer to facilitate 1-to-1 meetings.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

The participation in the Summit is by invitation only. Corporates, Investors and Scaleups interested in joining can check the information here http://ow.ly/TD8Y50xgOHx and contact [email protected].
