Leading mobile games company Scopely continues to grow. The company will more than triple its footprint in Barcelona, Spain — where it first established an office in late 2017 — while its strategy-focused game studio DIGIT in Dublin, Ireland will also expand.

Following a massive year for the company, including two successful game launches with Star Trek™ Fleet Command and Looney Tunes™ World of Mayhem, six consecutive top-grossing franchises and the acquisition of DIGIT Game Studios, Scopely is now digging deeper roots across Europe with significant expansion.

Scopely is set to move to a new office space in Barcelona later this year in Sarria – Sant Gervasi, a growing area of the city. Scopely is currently building out the under-construction space to best suit the needs of the business. The project will be completed this fall. Scopely currently leases 7,000 sf [650 sm] near Plaça Catalunya, now home to approximately 100 employees. The new space will be 26,000 sf [2400 sm] including a large outdoor terrace. Scopely will occupy the entire available office space at the three-story property, accommodating rapid growth and leveraging the area’s diverse talent pool. Scopely plans to further expand its team across multiple specialties, including engineering, game design, data analysis and analytics, creative services and customer support, among other functions.

In Dublin, the DIGIT team will completely refurbish its existing space in the tech-heavy “Silicon Docks” area of City Quay, adding an additional floor and upgrading facilities across 8000 sf. The DIGIT building is historic, originally built in the 1700s as a grain store. DIGIT moved into the space in 2012 when the company was just four employees. With now more than 80 employees, DIGIT Game Studios will continue to grow Scopely’s strategy genre slate, which currently includes the award-winning Star Trek™ Fleet Command.

“We are thrilled to expand our European footprint to accommodate our exponential growth,” said Javier Ferreira, Co-CEO of Scopely. “Both of these beautiful new spaces will allow us to align our physical presence with our rapidly expanding portfolio and team. I am excited to further lean in to the Barcelona market, which has top-quality talent. The same is true in Dublin with top tech talent flocking to the area, and both offices have amassed impressive highly-specialized expertise. Our Dublin and Barcelona teams play a critical role in the Scopely journey, and we are actively hiring across both markets.”

Scopely also previously shared it will more than double its footprint in Los Angeles come 2020.  Scopely currently leases 32,000 sf and will move to a 60,000 sf newly constructed building in the Runyon Group’s PLATFORM project in Culver City, California. Scopely will occupy the entire available office space at the four-story property (floors two through four).

Scopely has raised more than $250M in financing from leading venture capitalists, tech luminaries and cultural icons including Greenspring Associates, Greycroft Partners, Revolution Growth, Evolution Media Partners, Highland Capital Partners, Horizons Ventures, Sands Capital Ventures, The Chernin Group, Take-Two Interactive, Kobe Bryant, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Peter Guber (CEO of Mandalay Entertainment), Jimmy Iovine (co-founder of Interscope Records and Beats Electronics), Dave Dorman (former CEO of AT&T), Mike Lazerow (founder of Buddy Media), Zander Lurie (CEO of SurveyMonkey), Tom Staggs (former COO of Disney), and Brendan Iribe (co-founder of Oculus VR) among other notable investors.
