This month will see some of Ireland’s best-known speakers address Sandyford Business District’s (SBD) Innovation Week 2021 A Smart Sustainable Future: At the heart of your business. At the core of our future. The seminal event will run from Monday 15th to Wednesday 17th of November, and it will focus on spotlighting some of the challenges facing Ireland across energy, waste, mobility and the environment as we look to an increasingly digitised future.
Attendees can look forward to cutting-edge insights and information which will help businesses to address some of the pressing issues facing the country while strategically preparing their companies for the fourth industrial revolution.
SBD’S Innovation Week 2021 follows on from the success of last year’s event which brought together some of the most prominent leaders across a range of sectors, spanning technology, mobility, retail and digital. Innovation Week 2020 took the form of a series of virtual panel discussions featuring more than 30 speakers, all of whom provided crucial insights to attendees, to enable them to stay ahead of the curve.
This year’s event will be opened by An Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Cllr. Lettie McCarthy. The opening plenary session will concentrate on Energy followed by a panel discussion focused on environmental issues, with leading speakers from Huawei, SSE Airtricity, Enterprise Ireland, Zipp Mobility, Sustainable Energy Authority Ireland and many more. The event will conclude with sessions focused on exploring innovation in Mobility, Waste & Water and the Environment.
Commercial Manager, Mr Ger Corbett today said “This year’s Innovation Week is firmly at the cutting-edge of themes impacting Ireland’s future and the business ecosystem which enables our economy. We realise that businesses demand disruptive insights by engaging with leaders in their field and as the representative body for the area, we are firmly focused on delivering value-added strategic insights to our member businesses.”
“To that end, the sessions selected for Innovation Week have been carefully curated so that they are of tangible value and help businesses with their future planning against a backdrop of inordinate global change. With net zero ambitions and carbon targets set to impact all facets of Irish business life in the coming months, the content of all sessions across the three days will focus on how companies can manage the transformation they are compelled to undergo in order to operate.”
“Now more than ever, it is so important that these discussions take place, in order to enable businesses to build better, more environmentally-friendly operational models with the guiding principles of sustainability at their core. Identifying the main areas of opportunity and assessing how businesses react to these challenges will be crucial in the months and years ahead” Ger Corbett concluded.
This virtual event, which has grown year on year and is co-funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, will be streamed live on the Sandyford Business District Innovation Channel. For information and registration, go to https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/innovation-week-2021-tickets-178172236957
