Sandblock, French startup aims to encourage upgrade crypto mass adoption

Sandblock is a French startup, with a very strong technical identity, a solid expertise in the field of blockchain and the ambition to democratize this technology in its uses and applications.

Sandblock’s first product is a mobile application and a web extension called Surprise, offering crypto rewards to customers from their online shopping. It’s a really simple process: you just need to download the app and do your shopping as usual, you will be rewarded with Surprise points, a gamified branding for the crypto at the core of the system.

Today’s context

With the latest surge in interest for cryptocurrencies at the end of 2017, the crypto winter has marked this period as the most epic surge and the most epic crash. Today, the term “bitcoin” begins to rise up again in Google trends and bitcoin begins to be widely accepted in some countries.

Facebook launched their own cryptocurrency named Libra some weeks ago and it marks a new stage in the adoption of cryptos and blockchain: big companies begin to work on these technologies! It’s a sign of a near global crypto adoption.

Surprise points: a first approach of blockchain and cryptocurrencies technologies for a novice user

Today, there’s an intense need of mass-adoption in the cryptocurrencies and blockchain ecosystem and this is why Sandblock created Surprise, with the ambition to put crypto in everybody’s hands. Surprise can be the fuel for mass adoption as it targets novice users from shopping and not necessarily crypto-users.

For a novice user, Surprise points doesn’t require any knowledge or practice, their name embed a volatile value while their balance is actually shown in fiat currencies like €, $ or £.

These points are compatible with cross-border payments as they’re on the blockchain and they’re transferable by a peer-to-peer network.

Everybody knows that cryptocurrencies can be a dangerous investment but what is dangerous when you didn’t invest anything and have some cryptos on your wallet? You can’t lose anything!

Even if these Surprise points will have a free-market volatility and Surprise’s token plummet to zero, a novice user will never lose anything as these points have been “airdropped” to his wallet after one of his purchase.

With Surprise, Sandblock put cryptos in everybody’s hands. Cryptos that are earned freely and with which users can play, test and practice crypto exchanges, transfers or trade, for free.

It’ll be a simple and comprehensible approach to learn things. And users got free tokens from their shopping so they don’t have to invest anything!

Finally, Sandblock could incentivize their users to sign-up directly to solid and safe exchange platforms (like Kraken, Coinbase or Bitstamp), and therefore put in place a growth strategy with mutual benefits for Sandblock and those platforms.

Surprise points can be exchanged for bitcoin for example, after that, a user can just play with these bitcoins, learn and try things, without having to invest anything from his pocket.
