Samsung have unveiled their latest, more premium looking, Galaxy model and it could easily be described as the love child of a Galaxy S5 and and an iPhone 5S! Setting aside the obvious comparisons with the iPhone, Samsung have finally ditched the plastic body construction in favour of metal.
Sadly there have been some sacrifices though with most of the key specs being trimmed down. What you do get is as follows:
- 1,860mAh battery
- 720p screen
- 2GB RAM
- 4K video capture
- 12MP rear/ 2.1MP front cameras
- Fingerprint scanner
- Available in black, white, gold, silver and blue
We first heard rumours of this device before the Galaxy S5 was released. Back then it was claimed Samsing were reluctant to release a model that would be seen as more premium than the the S5 for fear it would sabotage sales. That may still be the reason we are seeing these lower specs in the Galaxy Alpha now.
The phone should be released in September and we’ll update the article once we hear more about pricing and availablity in Ireland.
