Great interview with Irina Dzhambazova, Head of Content and Communications of SaaStock telling us about the SaaStock conference taking place on September 18-20th in Dublin.

Website here.

SaaStock is Europe’s premier B2B SaaS Conference that brings the global SaaS community to Dublin for three days of immersion in learning, networking and building connections.

When is it on?

SaaStock takes place from September 18th to the 20th in Dublin.

How many years has it been going?

The conference was started in 2016 and this year will be the second edition.

What was the inspiration to start it?

Until 2016, there were no B2B SaaS conferences this side of the Atlantic. Learning the trades, connecting with the SaaS folk, and building important relationships required hopping on a long haul flight to cross the ocean. Not many Europeans were prepared to pay the financial or time cost.

We created Europe’s first and only SaaS conference. We chose Dublin because of its welcomeness, broad spectrum of International SaaS giants as well as indigenous startups and scale-ups, and the sheer goodwill from everyone to help us make it happen. Bringing European SaaS together was the initial premise for Saastock. Even in its first year, we outgrew that proposition. 700 attendees from 34 countries made it a global conference with a European heart.

What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?

This year SaaStock will bring together 1500 founders, executives and investors for three days of learning, networking and bonding. 101 speakers, split between three stages, will devise unicorn growth secrets, the key stages of the SaaS founder’s journey, the essentials of strategic leadership, bootstrapping to millions in Annual Recurring Revenue and many more topics that are key to growing a SaaS company. Bill Macaitis, David Skok, Ryan Smith, Mark Organ, and Promise Phelon are few of the notable names.

This year we will run a CTO track, specifically addressing issues like engineering practices and ways to grow development teams. We will also have an expanded version of SaaS.City, our 1-day accelerator, filled with insightful and fun satellite events, spread throughout the city. Software City, the exhibition space we run, will showcase the best of breed SaaS companies from around the world

What opportunities are on offer for people / startups / investors and companies attending?

For the founders, it is an opportunity to meet the right investors interested in SaaS. Speaking the same niche SaaS language of metrics and expectations increases the likelihood of taking the conversation further. It is also a great opportunity to meet new partners for collaborations and integration. A lot of the SaaS companies are customers to each other and SaaStock is an excellent opportunity to exhibit and talk straight with them.

One thing that differentiates SaaStock from American SaaS conferences is the priceless opportunity to have a condensed look at the state, mentality and strengths of European SaaS. A continent of 743 million people, 50 countries, and 24 official languages, it’s also a giant market with many nuances. What may be lost in translation, can be compensated through the face to face interaction.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Know what you want to learn and whom you want to meet. One of the main reasons we created SaaStock is because we do not know each other in the industry. That is as valid in Ireland as it is a pan-European problem. We gather some of the best people in SaaS all within the borders of beautiful Dublin. And we all speak the same language of SaaS, unlike most other, more broad conferences. All these are the essential ingredients to foster some great connections. Whether you want to meet potential investors, partners, clients or friends, knowing who you would want to meet in advance is vital. Go to the attendee section of the website as well as the app to help your research. For some extra inspiration, you can subscribe to our weekly newsletter, which features a SaaStock attendee each week. Contact the people in advance through the app or look for soft intros through common connections.

Tell us about SaaS.City?

It’s a 1-day accelerator for SaaS companies. It takes place on Monday, the 18th and offers an array of events for SaaStock ticket holders who have prebooked a seat. We are bringing executives from Slack, Segment, Gainsight, TapInfluence, SalesLoft and other successful B2B tech companies as mentors. Participants roll up their sleeves in in-depth bootcamps that offer advanced level mentoring for Growth Marketing, Sales, Customer Success and the skillset to be a great CEO. Three workshops tackle subjects like pricing, sales and scaling. Pub crawls, investor gatherings and the SaaStock opening party conclude the day in good spirit.

How can people book tickets for SaaStock?

Tickets can be bought here. We have special offers for those who want to bring four or more people and maximise the learnings and connections. We recommend buying as soon as possible as prices increase every few weeks. Another reason not to wait is SaaS.City, as all the events during the day are limited in capacity and require advance sign-up, which is open only to ticket holders.
