Remote working, blockchain, and how it might affect the environment

The potential impact on the environment, need for offices and use of Blockchain technology as we work from home

Barclays (Barclays has about 7,000 employees in its New York office near Times Square.) , JPMorgan Chase (with 180,000 employees  been working from home) and Morgan Stanley are part of a banking industry that has long been a pillar of the city’s economy, with more than 20,000 staff. Collectively, they lease more than 10 million square feet in New York

James Gorman, the Morgan Stanley chief executive told Bloomberg that the company had “proven we can operate with no footprint. “

Even Warren Buffet recently during his annual investors meeting said “A lot of people have learned that they can work at home,”

On a more upbeat outlook Anthony  Malkin, CEO of Empire State Realty Trust, the owner of the Empire State Building and eight other properties in Manhattan, said “New York’s appeal — a diverse and educated workforce and large industries, including a fast-growing technology sector — would drive an economic rebound and a desire for office space”.

Office workers on mass, unlikely to return to work until the autumn possibly new year unless we get a vaccination before.

INDEED, GOOGLE AND FACEBOOK BACK TO THE OFFICE 1ST JAN 2021

TWITTER POTENTIALLY NEVER

Business is proving do not need an office so less commuting change in lifestyle and less pollution which is good for climate change and personal lives as less commuting.

How soon before we see commercial property price fall and offices being converted to residential apartments?

Increased need for secure the data if remote working hence likely to see increased use of Blockchain tech with its military grade security
