New Real-Time Global Carbon Intelligence Platform launched

In advance of the Earth Day 2026 (on 22 April), Tao Climate, an Irish ClimateTech company, has announced the launch of EarthOS, a new real-time global carbon intelligence platform designed to make the planet’s carbon reality visible, understandable, and impossible to ignore.

The focus of EarthOS is to transform complex global emissions data into a simple, real-time dashboard. For the first time, anyone can see how carbon is being produced, where it is coming from, and what it means for our future.

EarthOS aggregates global carbon data into a continuously updated interface, providing a clear picture of emissions at a planetary level. The platform is designed for accessibility, enabling media, policymakers, businesses, and the public to engage with climate data in real time.

“We’ve built EarthOS to answer a simple question,” said, Gary Byrnes, Founder and CEO, Tao Climate. “What is actually happening to our atmosphere right now? Not last year. Not in a PDF report. Now. The launch comes at a critical moment as despite decades of climate reporting, emissions continue to rise, and public understanding remains fragmented. EarthOS aims to bridge that gap.”

Climate data has traditionally been locked in academic papers, annual disclosures, and complex datasets. EarthOS changes that by turning carbon into something visible and immediate.

“Climate change has a visibility problem,” Byrnes added. “If people could see carbon the way they see the weather, everything would change. EarthOS is a step towards that reality.”

He concluded, “With Earth Day 2026 on 22 April expected to generate global media attention, EarthOS also provides a powerful, visual tool for journalists covering climate change. Rather than relying on static statistics, media outlets can now reference live data and embed a dynamic view of global emissions into their coverage.”

The launch of the EarthOS platform also lays the groundwork for Tao Climate’s broader mission, building the trust infrastructure for carbon removal markets using artificial intelligence, satellite data, and real-time verification.

Tao Climate is a client company of the ESA BIC (Business Incubation Centre) Ireland initiative at NovaUCD. ESA BIC Ireland supports Irish companies across the business spectrum that are using space technology and data.
