When and where is it on?
Publicize Blockchain is taking place at the iconic, and historic Flatiron Building in downtown Manhattan on the first day of NYC Blockchain Week, Monday, May 13th from 5 to 11 p.m.
How many years has it been going?
This is the premier launch of Publicize Blockchain. Future cities to be included over the course of a year are London, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin. South Korea, Singapore and Switzerland are also on our radars at the moment.
What was the inspiration to start it?
Blockchain technology has incredible positive social and economic impact intrinsically woven into the very fabric of it, however, in order for its potential to be realized, adoption must increase. It is for that that Publicize Blockchain, and its parent company, Spacemade Media have been founded; with the purpose of sparking increased interest, investigation and exposure for the industry as a whole.
What exciting things can people look forward to?
In the first part of the event (the pitch contest), we have multiple companies making announcements public. Following the pitch competition, we are delving into an intimate panel discussion on the Role of Investment for the Future of Blockchain Globally. Beyond some of the formatted content programming, the audience attending Publicize Blockchain are coming from investment groups and family offices from around the world representing billions of dollars of investment including YGC and Crypto Valley Venture Capital, several c-suite executives from Fortune 100 companies such as IBM, PwC (US and Switzerland) and Microsoft. Additional executives confirmed for the event are from pillar names in blockchain such as Coinbase, Consensys, Chainalysis, ICON Foundation and others. Participating media judges are coming from top-tier publications such as WSJ, Forbes, TechCrunch, Reuter’s, Bankrate, AlleyWatch, CoinTelegraph, CNBC Crypto Trader as well as a couple of industry influencers. This event will be filmed by CNBC Crypto Trader, the producers from the Netflix documentary Banking on Bitcoin as well as our own. We hope no one is camera shy!!
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
Publicize Blockchain, and the team behind it lives for success stories. The way the audience is being curated is by evaluating attendance on the basis of who has something to contribute. The intimate setting of our event is being designed with the intention of creating a fertile platform for new business development to ignite. Our team is focused on making strategic introductions to our attending guests and participating media judges as makes sense.
Who will be speaking?
Stephen Meade, founder of MonetaPro. Stephen as IPO’d three times in which his first foray into IPO’ing was with PayPal. MonetaPro has recently welcomed a senior executive from Deloitte as their new CEO. Henry Liu, Chief Investment Operator and managing partner of Yeoman’s Growth Capital, a $200M late-stage investment fund directed by David Johnston who is the founder of BitAngels, author of WP on DApps, co-author of Ethereum and Chairman of the Board for Factom.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
Be friendly and outgoing. This is a great crowd. Having a giver mentality versus a “what’s in it for me” mentality will take guests far.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
Interested parties can request an invitation on our website at PublicizeBlockchain.com. We are already about double oversubscribed or the event. RSVP’s are being sent the week prior to the event with waitlisted notifications as well. The best advice it to request a ticket early, or inquire about supporting the event by way of sponsorship as that’s the only way we’re able to make this great event possible for all
Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
Perfect questions. I take it you have done this before 😉 As a female founder, and single mother of three working as an entrepreneur in such an impactful tech industry, I’m sensitive to doing my part to support diversity and inclusion. A portion of any proceeds from these events are being set aside to be donated to non-profit organizations which align with those values and supporting women in blockchain, as well as financial literacy and entrepreneurship education for children. We have not aligned with any non-profits as of yet, and I would encourage organizations interested in aligning to email me at kaitie@spacemademedia.com.
