An event to talk all about the post COP26 roadmap for the built environment sectors is taking place this week, here is everything you need to know:

When and where is it on?

This is a virtual event via Zoom on Wednesday 24th November 2021, from 10 am to 12 noon (GMT).

How many years has it been going?

This is the first year of the event and there will be a number of events in 2022 that will follow on from it, drilling down into the large range of sub-topics that make up this theme.

What was the inspiration to start it?

We have had some superb guests over the last few months who are champions of sustainability. Then in September 2021, we produced the first podcast episode that featured two guests, rather than only one.

These guests are leading lights when it comes to women in sustainability within the built environment sectors.

This episode made our team feel as if we had turned a corner. Even though we found these ladies entirely separately, their dynamic as a duo was undeniably powerful.

The women in question, Emma Nicholson and Sumele Aruofor, inspired us to set up this event The Post Cop26 Roadmap For The Built Environment Sectors.

We have lined up the main guest and a panel of world-class experts to talk about the route they see ahead for the various sectors that relate to the construction and related industries.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

Guests will be able to learn firsthand from one of the Directors of the World Green Building Council about the implications of COP26.

Then there will be Question Time with the panel of experts. Each will ask the WGBC Director a question that relates to their own specialisation and COP26.

We believe that our audience will learn valuable information with different angles through this approach and the quality of the line-up.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

Those who attend have the opportunity of gaining important knowledge that has not been available elsewhere, to date. All attendees will receive a recording of the event which they can share with their colleagues. The audience will also be notified of follow-up events that will be open on a membership basis in 2022.

Who will be speaking?

Featured Guest: The World Green Building Council, Victoria Kate Burrows, Advancing Net Zero Director who will be interviewed by Sunday Times freelancer, Henry McDonald.

Event opening

The event will be opened by Neal Maxwell who has transitioned from being a very successful construction company Managing Director to becoming the founder of Changing Streams.

Featured in The Guardian and on the ITV News, Changing Streams CIC has been created as a not-for-profit organisation with the sole intention of significantly reducing the use and reliance of plastic in the construction industry.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Immerse yourself in the event to get the best out of it. You don’t need to worry about taking notes as we will send you the recording in due course.
