The Pendulum Summit is an event which has been running since 2014, that aims to empower people in the business.

For the first time, one of their events will be going virtual. I spoke with Aoife Dorgan, one of the collaborators for the Pendulum Summit, about what can be expected from this year’s event that will be taking place on the 27th of November 2020.

Pendulum summit: First virtual event

Firstly we discussed the origins of the event to get a sense of what the events about:

” The Pendulum Summit has been running since 2014 with in-person events in Dublin and New York. This is our first time creating a virtual event.

Every year, Pendulum takes place in the iconic setting of the Convention Centre Dublin in Ireland. Its first year (2014) welcomed 600 delegates, a figure which rose to 7,000+ across two-days in 2020.

Visionaries who have taken to the stage include Sir Richard Branson, Colin Farrell, Deepak Chopra MD, Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, Jo Malone MBE, Lord Sugar, John Cleese, Baroness Michelle Mone OBE, Robin Sharma, Randi Zuckerberg, and Bear Grylls – to name a few”.

We spoke of how the concept for the event came into fruition:

“Former professional Rugby player Frankie Sheahan and experienced Events Director and Life Coach Norma Sheahan share an unshakable passion for empowering people and business.

The husband and wife duo founded Pendulum Summit in 2014 with the goal of empowering individuals to maximise their potential in business and life”.

In terms of what people can look forward to, Aofie gave a detailed description of what can be expected:

“This virtual event will allow you to experience the magic, expertise, and inspiration of Pendulum from any device, in any time zone, in any language, country, or location around the world.

For our brand new virtual event in typical Pendulum fashion, we will be bringing together some of the biggest names to deliver some thought-provoking and inspiring talks on topics relevant to the times ahead including business agility, perseverance, remote leadership, bounce-back ability, self-motivation & well-being”.

She spoke at length about what the opportunities  available for those wishing to attend:

“Recent global disruption has left a trail of destruction especially for our most important resource, our people, and teams. We propose a solution to keep yourself and your core team engaged, motivated, and driven to tackle the burning issues that are causing this disruption.

The event is open to a worldwide audience which gives all participants the opportunity to virtually network, connect and form new relationships with like-minded individuals and businesses from around the globe in our virtual networking and exhibition areas”.

Before we finished, Aoife provided  me an outline of how attendees can make the most of their virtual experience:

“What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it? Clear your mind and embrace the day and opportunity that is presented.

Clear your workspace from any distractions to ensure you can really listen and absorb the information shared. Take notes as you go.

Take the time to log-in a few minutes earlier to familiarise yourself with the platform and all that is available to you. Make sure to participate in the exercises and to check out the virtual networking and exhibition areas”.

Tickets can be purchased from the Pendulum Summit website- www.pendulumsummit.com. Group ticket packages are also available, anyone interested in these should contact the Pendulum team at [email protected].
