PayPal Earth Day beach clean with An Taisce

On 22 April, as the world celebrated Earth Day to raise awareness of the need to protect the environment and invest in our planet,?over 20?PayPal employees volunteered with An Taisce at Rockmarshall,?Co Louth,?for?its ‘Clean Coasts’ programme.?Throughout April, PayPal employees across the globe are supporting organisations that are helping to create a sustainable and equitable future and?have opportunities to serve the needs of the communities in which they live and work throughout the year.?

In 2022, PayPal employees?in Dundalk and?across Ireland volunteered more than?20,750 hours of their time.??PayPal employees also have the opportunity to have their volunteer time (8 EUR/hour) and donations matched by PayPal up to 2,100 EUR?annually.?

James Abel, Director and Site Leader PayPal Dundalk?commented: “We’re honoured to have a long-standing relationship with An Taisce that allows us to support their ambitions, it was fantastic to see the PayPal team come out today?to pick litter, helping to protect and care for Ireland’s coastline, seas and marine life. Our employees in Ireland are passionate advocates for our work with local charities and I am always inspired to see how our teams across Ireland come together – offering their time and skills to drive a meaningful impact in the community.”

Aidan Gray from An Taisce adds: “We’ve been delighted to work with PayPal with clean ups and marram grass planting in Co. Louth over the past couple of years. It’s extra special to have this year’s clean up on Earth Day and tied in with our National Spring Clean, where hundreds of clean ups are taking place around the country during April, before a busy summer season of beach visitors. Thank you, PayPal, for getting involved again.”
