With Jill Lush, Owner of Lush Marketing
At Lush Marketing it is our mission to help local businesses to market their business to their full potential, thus increasing their customer base and ultimately revenue. Our 5-year plan is to do this on a national and European level. Originally our customer base has been in Wicklow and Dublin. However, a recent collaboration with a partner business has provided opportunities further afield.
Right now we’re working on some really exciting projects. We’re working on a Marketing Strategy for a new customer and working on ongoing marketing training and workshops with one of our first customers. Jill Lush is really excited to be speaking at the Grow SME stage at TechConnect Live in the RDS, Dublin this Thursday. So we are keeping her busy getting her presentation ready for that!
The last year has been fantastic. Although the business was officially established in September 2017, it feels like we really only started last summer (2018). Jill Lush is the owner of Lush Marketing and has been busy spreading the word of the work she does through social media, but at lots of networking events too. Facebook seems to be a declining platform somewhat, but their other business Instagram is in serious growth mode. This can be seen for our business too and the use of the various social media platforms.
As a small business, it is great to work with other businesses on larger jobs. Collaboration is the way forward in business. Working with other businesses is a great way of supporting one another and supporting small business in Ireland. There are great knowledge and talent in Ireland. Through networking and building connections, we have some fantastic contacts in the industry and will continue to grow these.
Jill is very excited to be talking at this event. Her presentation is called “7 reasons to outsource marketing for your business”. Even though the title and content is about marketing, the reasons to outsource can be applied to other parts of your business – for example, finance, HR, web development, etc.
One of the services provided by Lush Marketing is as a Marketing Outsource. Businesses find it costly to employ staff as it’s not just the basic salary that needs to be paid monthly, but the pension contribution, PRSI, USC, etc. Jill works with just a handful of clients at a time and gets to know her customers and their businesses very well. By building this relationship she can create a well-researched marketing strategy for their business. The business can then choose which elements to work on themselves and which parts to outsource.
Months ago Jill had seen that the event was coming up in the RDS and registered to attend. Then the opportunity arose to be a speaker at the event and she didn’t hesitate to agree to participate. It’s great to see that there are so many functions and elements of business coming together under one roof at one exhibition. This is how business connections are made and how great collaborative work can start.
What a great question! There are so many influencers in the marketing space, both nationally and internationally. It’s really important to stay on top of trends, particularly in the world of digital marketing. I subscribe to lots of email lists to stay on top of industry news as I can get to read them when I’m ready. I do love social media and follow lots on Twitter and Instagram, but I’m always afraid I’ll miss something, so subscribe to email updates where possible. Fear of Missing Out (FOMO)!!!!!
Marketing Week, EConsultancy, Forbes, McKinsey and some of the big names are great to follow to stay on top of marketing news.
We’ll be making updates to our website over the summer to showcase some of the great work that we’ve been doing with our customers. So, keep an eye on www.lushmarketing.ie

Marketing is my area of passion, having continually studied and worked in this field. I love engaging with businesses when they are struggling with their marketing and watching them grow.
Our Purpose: We meet our customers face to face to understand their business better and see gaps and room for improvement in relation to the overall business and marketing of it.
