When and where is it on?

Oslo Innovation Week 2020 takes place September 21-25. For the first year in the event’s existence they’ve gone digital so people from around the world can listen in and partake in the program for free online and from the comfort of their home.  In conjunction with the event Enterprise Ireland will host a webinar “From Forklifts to Saving Lives” on 22nd September, 8am Irish time. 9am (CEST – Central Eastern Summer time). How many years has it been going?

Oslo Innovation Week was started in 2005.

What was the inspiration to start it?

Since 2005, Oslo Innovation Week has gathered startups, corporates, investors, innovation drivers, tech experts and creatives in the city centre of Oslo with the aim of bringing forward new voices and innovation in action. The event highlights bold solutions that solve real global challenges through entrepreneurship, technology and innovation. The event is owned by the City of Oslo and Innovation Norway, project managed by Oslo Business Region, and supported by Osloregionen.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

Oslo Innovation Week

The program for Oslo Innovation Week 2020 is centred on the theme ‘It’s time to build!’ and focusses across 5 key topics: Future of work, Energy, Health Innovation, Circular Economy, Accelerating Growth. This is Enterprise Ireland’s first year participating and we are delighted to present “From Forklifts to Saving Lives”.  During the Webinar participants will hear from one of Ireland leading exporters Combilift.

Their CEO Martin McVicar will share insights about how the company has drawn on its expertise in engineering and software design to develop the Combi-Ventilate, a splitter device which turns one ventilator into multiple ventilation stations to address the current Covid-19 emergency. Martin will also highlight the company’s special link to Norway as their first export market and how they have grown into the global success story they are today with products in 85+ countries worldwide.
