What is OMR20?
That’s a sneaky tough question. If you asked the team, everyone would have a different answer, ranging from marketing platform and a media company to podcast producer, education and event production company. The truth is, we are all of those things. But what we are most famous for is the OMR Festival (https://omr.com/festival2019/en/). In less than a decade, we’ve grown from a small 1-day seminar to the second-largest digital event in Europe, after Web Summit, and the largest in Germany. Every spring we bring together more than 52,000 digital media and advertising executives and influencers in Hamburg.
When and where is it on?
OMR20 will take place on May 12th and 13th, 2020 in Hamburg, Germany at the Hamburg Exhibition Center.
How many years has it been going?
Almost a decade. In fact, the first OMR festival took place 9 years ago. Calling it a festival, however, seems like a bit of a stretch; it was really just a modest seminar at a local university that was attended by 150.
What was the inspiration to start it?
The idea came from our three co-founders, Christian Müller, Tobias Schlottke and Philipp Westermeyer. They simply wanted to create a space for the online marketing scene to connect—something that was sorely lacking then in Germany.
What exciting things can people look forward to?
Our goal is always to maximize the infotainment. To that end, our editorial and sales teams work year round to put together a lineup that is fresh, relevant and challenging. At the OMR Festival there will always be 300+ international top speakers, 400+ exhibitors (established, big-name companies and up-and-coming startups), Masterclasses and Guided Tours on every relevant digital marketing topic, as well as side events all around Hamburg. Oh, and parties, too. One each night of the Festival. Work hard, play hard as it should be.
Who will be speaking?
The line up for 2020 is not finalized yet. In 2019, we had Bozoma Saint John, Yuval Noah Harari, Andy Puddicombe and Matt Lieber, among others, speak at the Conference. In total we had 630 speakers last year. At OMR20, we can promise the same caliber and similar number of speakers.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
So the core Festival has two parts: the Expo and the Conference. The Expo takes place on both days and can be attended with the basic ticket. If you want the full OMR Festival experience, you need the All-Inclusive Ticket. It gives you access to the Conference on day 2, where the stars of the scene speak and it also guarantees entry to 2 Masterclasses, a Guided Tour and the one-of-a-kind parties with their unique networking opportunities.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
People can book tickets on the OMR website: https://omr.com/en/. The tickets are limited and usually sell out a few weeks before the festival.
