What our testers thought about the Nokia Clarity Earbuds 2+ So Pink

Yes the flavour we got was pink, though you might say it was perhaps more blush than shocking pink, but maybe we won’t go down that particular rabbit hole. The last phone we reviewed was a strong, striking purple, so, overall it seems that Nokia are doing a good job of positioning themselves positively in terms of the visual impact of their new products. Out of the box, one of our testers had trouble extracting the actual earbuds out of their protective casing.

This took a bit of experimentation and, while our testers have small hands and fingers, they felt it wasn’t completely intuitive and could be trickier for those with, ahem, larger fingers, and also older users. Once into the ear they fitted well and the testers were happy with them, so overall a plus, and just workout a way to extract them from their casing in an elegant way.

Nokia have been touting their aims to embrace more sustainable practices, and a % of the product is apparently made with recycled materials. For now this covers the plastic aspects, so hopefully in the future this will extend to some of the more complex rare earth metals too. Here’s hoping, but it is positive that they are engaging with this side of the product and hopefully the more data on this they share the more it will help drive up the levels for all products and other competitors too.

One small glitch occurred when one ear didn’t seem to deliver sound. As always it then needs further testing to assess if it was just that one earbud wasn’t charging correctly, so our testers were still on the fence about that. Apart from this they gave an overall thumbs up to the product, they liked the case, liked the sound, and the snugness of how it sat in their ears. The price point is decent too, so a positive step by Nokia with these earbuds.

4. Earbuds play time is up to X hours on one charge. Fully-charged case charges earbuds up to X times which makes the total of X hours play time The 3-day battery testing was conducted using a real life usage test by HMD Global.

The test included active usage of a device for 5 hours per day with a new battery. Usage included e.g. gaming, video streaming, calling, sending sms, browsing and using apps (such as social media, news, navigation and music). The test was conducted with normal device settings in a lit indoor environment. The device was left on standby overnight.
