Nitro, a leading document productivity company, have announced the appointment of well-known industry veteran, Roland Tritsch, to its global leadership team as Vice President of Infrastructure Engineering. In this new role based out of Nitro’s growing Dublin office, Tritsch will lead the global infrastructure engineering function, which to date has been primarily located in the company’s San Francisco headquarters, helping to execute on Nitro’s mission to make documents smarter and companies more productive.
Tritsch, a German native living in Ireland for the past decade, brings over 20 years of industry experience in creating and supporting global distributed software systems, having most recently overseen the Applications Services organization for Fujitsu in Ireland. Prior to that, Tritsch held the role of VP of Infrastructure Engineering for the online shopping powerhouse, Gilt Groupe. He also spent almost 10 years in key leadership roles at Irish software success story, Iona Technologies.
“I’m thrilled to have joined the team at Nitro and relish the challenge of scaling our technology and infrastructure to match our exciting business goals,” Tritsch commented. “Nitro has a seriously ambitious but highly compelling vision, ‘to revolutionise the way the world works with documents’, and I’m delighted to be part of helping make sure we do just that.”
Tritsch’s hire comes just a few months after the appointment of Brendan Dillon as Director of Engineering at Nitro, an additional key leadership role now also based in Dublin. Dillon joins Nitro from Logentries where he held MD and VP, Engineering roles, and prior to that, was CTO at AdaptiveMobile. Dillon and his growing team of engineers are focused on building and developing one of Nitro’s most important offerings, Nitro Cloud, leveraging cutting-edge technologies including Spark and Scala.
Speaking about the recent appointments Sam Chandler, Founder and CEO of Nitro said: “We’re increasingly bullish about the growth of our Dublin operation, and particularly with our most recent Product and Engineering hires. Dublin has always represented an opportunity for us to build out all the key functions of our business, not just the standard sales and service operations, and we’ve been especially encouraged by the exceptional engineering talent available in the local market.”
