2014 Bay Area CFO of the Year Joins from Rocket Fuel; Will Lead Document Productivity Provider’s Financial Operations

Nitro, the leader in document productivity, today announced the appointment of Peter Bardwick as chief financial officer. In this role, Bardwick will leverage his extensive financial background to lead Nitro’s accounting and financial operations, including overseeing the financial planning and analysis team, as well as the legal, governance and IT functions.

“Peter is widely recognized as one of the best in his field, bringing a wealth of experience in high-growth start-up environments,” said Sam Chandler, founder and CEO of Nitro. “His extensive knowledge and expertise helped his last company grow at an exceedingly fast pace, and we have no doubt he will bolster our international growth – helping us to transform the way the world works with documents in the cloud.”

Bardwick brings more than 20 years of experience in financial operations to Nitro. In his most recent role as CFO at Rocket Fuel, he led the company in the third most successful IPO of 2013 and increased revenue from $40 million to $400 million in just three years during his tenure. Prior to Rocket Fuel, Bardwick served as a C-level executive for several high-growth companies and was responsible for two billion-dollar IPOs during his time at CBS MarketWatch and the aforementioned, Rocket Fuel. Bardwick began his career in investment banking with Citicorp and Salomon Brothers in New York, where he raised more than $10 billion as a corporate executive and banker.

“This is an extremely exciting time to join Nitro,” said Bardwick. “With a proven, successful offering and huge potential for growth, I jumped at the chance to get involved. I am delighted to join such an innovative team during a pivotal time in which customers are clamoring to take the ‘paper’ out of ‘paperwork.’  With Nitro’s track record of product innovation and fiscal discipline, I’m eager to help accelerate growth while continuing to keep an eye on the bottom line.

The news of Bardwick’s hire comes shortly after Nitro launched its latest product, Nitro Pro 10 with Nitro Cloud, a document productivity solution that accelerates the way businesses create, prepare and sign documents.

Nitro established its EMEA headquarters in Dublin in October 2013 with plans to hire 50 staff in its first two years of operation. Since then growth expectations have doubled with plans to hire over 100 staff by the end of 2016.  With 46 Nitronauts in place already, the expansion in Europe has coincided with over 50% growth in EMEA customers since opening the Dublin office at the Web Summit last year.
