Networking Summit, Friday, 27 September, Carlton Hotel, Dublin Hotel

When and where is it on?

TheNetworkingSummit takes place on Friday, 27 September in the Carlton Hotel, Dublin Hotel.

How many years has it been going?

This is the second year of event, following a hugely successful inaugural year in 2018

What was the inspiration to start it?

Studies repeatedly show that 90% of new business comes through our business network.  However throughout my career, I’d met a number of people who simply felt that networking wasn’t for them.  Networking is a skill, but not one that is taught in any of our educational streams (i.e. schools, colleges and most companies don’t have strategies to cover it) yet in order to build careers or businesses it’s a skill set we need.  I saw a gap in the market to bring together the most talented people in this field to show how we can grow our businesses and drive impact through networking.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

This year we are delighted to announce adventurer and former professional rugby player, Damian Browne, as the event’s keynote speaker.  Damian will be taking time out from his incredibly ambitious ‘7 Summit Challenge’, which sees him climbing the highest mountain on all seven continents.  Speaking about the event, Damian said:  “I’m really looking forward to TheNetworkingSummit and I hope to inspire attendees to live a life full off challenges, learning, risk, growth, fulfilment and action.”

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

In addition to the exceptional panel of speakers, attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in focused and practical, boutique-sized masterclasses hosted by our talented panel of speakers.  This year attendees can also gain continuous professional development (CPD) hours at the fully accredited event.

Who will be speaking?

Alongside our fantastic keynote speaker, Damian Browne, the exceptional panel of speakers also includes Kingsley Aikins, founder of The Networking Institute; Brigid Farrell, founder of international communications firm, AllTalk Training; Sharon Tighe, Zahra Media Group and founder of The Good Summit; Gillian Burrell, PGA Golf Professional and John Murray, leading photographer who merges behavioural science and photography to promote positive self-image and acceptance.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Come with an open mind, be inquisitive and curious. Aim to have quality conversations with a few rather than surface level with many. It’s all about creating rapport and relationships through genuine and authentic connectivity.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Tickets for TheNetworkingSummit, which include all presentations, 2 x 60 min masterclasses and a seated lunch are priced at €200, with discounts available for not-for-profit organisations and are available from www.thenewtorkingsummit.com.

Tickets are selling fast and limited in number, so hopeful attendees are advised to book their places as soon as possible.
