Netflix the global leader of on-demand Internet streaming media including movies and TV shows like its own series House of cards, has just released it’s latest ISP Speed index results for Ireland. The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of prime time Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services/data that may travel across the specific ISP network. Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions.

Unsuprisingly UPC is leading the ways since it started offering speeds of 240Mps with their top tier. Magnet are second but they still can’t match UPC’s speeds and Eircom is in third as their efiber broadband is still being rolled out, but once the roll out is complete expect to see Eircom in second place soon. Imagine is in last place which is not suprising since it offers the lowest speeds of all the seven providers listed. Unless Magnet or Eircom start offering a broadband package with speeds of over 240Mps, then UPC won’t be overtaken in the immediate future. How fast is your broadband, are you a Netflix customer and do you think the Netflix speed results are accurate? Feel free to let us know.
