Ireland’s NDRC was ranked the No 2 university business accelerator in the world at the prestigious UBI Awards in London last night, providing further confirmation of the central place the Dublin based organisation maintains in the global innovation ecosystem. Established in 2007, NDRC invests in and works with entrepreneurs and startup teams to deliver digital ventures. Alumni include Nuritas, Boxever and Logentries, one of the first companies to participate in NDRC’s LaunchPad programme in 2010, who last  month were acquired by US security analytics giant Rapid7.

Headquartered in Stockholm, UBI Global analyses and benchmarks business incubation and accelerator programmes across the world.

NDRC chief executive Ben Hurley said the endorsement validates the approach of the organisation – providing modest levels of financial investment, with intense commercial support and expertise from its venture investment leaders over a defined period. He also recognised the continued support of the Department of Communications Energy and Natural Resources and their strong understanding as to the importance of building indigenous technology companies.
