With the Moto G proving to be a great success in this neck of the woods, Motorola may be about to launch the Moto X here, or at least some version of it.
They sent out an invitation yesterday for an event in the UK on January 14 to “welcome a new addition to the European Motorola family of products”
Very few Motorola phones have gone on sale in Ireland or Europe since the days of the original RAZR but the company seems to be taking a different approach now. The Moto X has been well received in the U.S. and for good reason. Instead of trying to compete in the specs race, Motorola have instead tried to add new features such as the always on voice recognition, they are updating their phones to the latest version of Android in near Nexus like timeframes and are pricing their devices considerably cheaper than the competition.
We’ll find out next week what Motorola has to offer but if it is a version of the Moto X it will be interesting to see if the customisation options available to customers in the States will be made available here. We’ll keep you posted.
