Last month I met Mike Cowen MasterCard’s head of digital payments and Jason Lalor, the general manager for Mastercard Ireland. Mike and Jason talk to me about the changing landscapes of payments in Ireland including the big changes around mobile payments, biometric payments such as fingerprint scanners and retinal scanners. They also talk about their new technology platform MDES that banks can plug into and allow systems like Apple Pay and Android Pay to work. MDES platform and what Mastercard products are coming on stream soon.
