Microsoft celebrated its 30th year in operation in Ireland this year and is at a fantastic time of the company’s history.  As part of the year’s celebrations the company announced its new Euro 134m campus plans which will result in all of Microsoft’s operations coming together under one state of the art building.  Construction is well underway.   Having all groups in the same building will facilitate diverse teams working closely together, improving collaboration, innovation and growth hacking from the Irish based teams for customers across the globe.

Speaking today about the plans for 2016 Cathriona Hallahan, Managing Director, Microsoft Ireland said: “We’re delighted to offer this opportunity to 160 talented people to join Microsoft.  Our new colleagues will have an opportunity to influence how this vision is delivered for customers across the globe. Microsoft in Ireland is a global hub for many parts of our operations and development teams. That means that there are great career opportunities for people – many of whom will have a European or global role while being based in Dublin.

“In our 30th year of investing in Ireland, we’ve had a busy time, and have announced a number of strategic investments in our operations including plans to invest in a €134m state of the art campus.  We have also announced plans for further expansion at our Dublin based Data Centre to support the continued growth in demand for cloud services.   It’s great to be able to finish the year by highlighting our recruitment plans and we hope to welcome new members to our team very soon.

The type of people we are looking to attract should be creative thinkers with a growth mind set, passionate about technology innovation, customer obsessed, and interested in working in a fast paced dynamic environment. The roles that we’re recruiting for are diverse and demonstrate the breadth of opportunities available when working with a technology leader.  In particular, our engineering roles span Windows, Office, Dynamics and Azure Cloud Services.”

Microsoft first opened its doors in Ireland in 1985 with a small manufacturing facility employing just over one hundred people. The company now employs 1,200 people and the team encompasses four separate divisions, Microsoft EMEA Operations Centre (EOC), Microsoft European Development Centre (EDC), Microsoft Sales, Marketing & Services Group (SMSG) and the EMEA Data Centre.
