Yesterday at 5 pm the CEO Satya Nadella kicked off the Microsoft Build of 2021, their annual developer conference.
This year saw a virtual keynote focused on Microsoft’s strategy to empower developers to build what comes next. Following CEO Nadella’s opening words there were several tech sessions diving into news and demos from Amanda Silver, CVP of Product, Developer Division, Rohan Kumar, CVP Azure Data;?Gabe Monroy, VP Developer Division, Jeff Teper, CVP, Microsoft 365, and more.
Today, the Build began at 8:30 am PT and featured sessions with speakers like a tech talk from Scott Guthrie, EVP of Cloud & AI, conversations with Julia Liuson, CVP of Developer Division and Rajesh Jha, EVP of Experiences and Devices, and a visionary keynote from Kevin Scott, CTO.
Microsoft Build Line-up
The line-up started with ‘Microsoft loves developers: Welcome to Build 2021’, overviewing the program was Scott Gutherie, Executive VP. Next was ‘Build the next generation of collaborative apps for hybrid work’, empowering developers to build hybrid workplaces.
Next, there was ‘Build cloud-native apps that run anywhere’, allowing developers to create apps including news of Azure Application Services extending to Kubernetes and Azure Arc. ‘Harness the power of data and AI in your applications with Azure’, which shows developers how to build apps with Azure Cosmos DB and introducing Azure Applied AI.
Next was ‘Introducing Power Apps Ideas: AI-powered assistance now helps anyone create apps using natural language’, an overview of how we’re making it easier to build apps with low-code tooling, including low code language Power Fx. Finally ‘Introducing the Green Software Foundation’, a new nonprofit Microsoft is co-founding with Accenture and others under Linux Foundation.
