Irish satire and news website, Meanwhile in Ireland, is on the lookout for a Father Ted TV Show Critic on a short-term temporary contract.
Reaching over half a million viewers each day, Meanwhile in Ireland covers everything from Irish pop culture and bizarre news to comedy, travel and satire.
Launched in 2014, the platform has grown to become one of Ireland’s most popular platforms for viral videos, political parodies, and general Irish craic. With a thriving team of Irish writers at its helm, this is an excellent opportunity for a budding critic to join a young and dynamic team.
Working for an ever-growing media platform, the candidate will contribute to one of Ireland’s most popular websites, on one of Ireland’s most beloved subjects: Father Ted.
Father Ted is an iconic Irish TV series following the lives of three priests and their housekeeper on the fictional Craggy Island, off the coast of Ireland. The show, which ran from 1995-1995, produced 25 episodes over three series.
This hands-on role is a dream job for those with a love and knowledge for TV, Irish culture, and especially, Father Ted. It is preferable for someone with a background as a critic; although this is not a requirement.
The chosen candidate can be located in any county across the globe. During the term of employment, they will work closely with the website Editor and Culture Writers to develop insightful and fresh content on the subject of Father Ted.
Conducting concise and thorough research, the candidate will be responsible for watching, critiquing and ranking every episode of the hit sitcom in order, from best to worst.
As one of Ireland’s leading commentators on culture, we aim to offer the most intriguing and insightful content – and our Father Ted articles are no different.
On completion of this contract, the Father Ted TV Critic’s findings will be transformed into the ultimate go-to guide to Father Ted, ranking each episode from best to worst. Please note: this guide will not be written by the Father Ted TV Critic but instead one of Meanwhile in Ireland’s Culture Writers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous experience as a critic, or who wants to build their portfolio. The role will offer the candidate the chance to contribute to a leading media platform at an exciting stage in our growth.
In addition to being offered a competitive salary for the role of Father Ted TV Show Critic at Meanwhile in Ireland, you will be able to work remotely. Assistance where necessary will be available from our motivational and supportive team.
While this role is entirely flexible, this is a short-term temporary contract, and all research must be submitted within three weeks from the start date.
