Maynooth University is exploring the cosmos for Space Week 2023 with a free all-ages event covering everything from new images from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) to the search for the darkest phenomena in the universe: black holes, dark matter and dark energy.

MU scientists will share their research through visual presentations and show how they are developing a deeper understanding of the sun, the stars, the solar system and much more.

The event, which takes place on Thursday, October 5th in Maynooth University’s Technology, Society and Innovation Building, will feature:

—  Dr Patrick Kavanagh and Dr Neil Trappe sharing the latest images from the James Web Space Telescope and new telescope technologies
—  Dr John Regan and PhD scholar Aoibhinn Gallagher discussing Black Holes and the Dark Universe

The audience will also have a chance to pose their own questions for the experts to answer.
