The Market Entry Bootcamp is an initiative by digitalswitzerland that aims to introduce Switzerland as an innovation hub.

The objective of the event is to attract promising international startups to the country.

This is the third event in three years, and its creators aim to bring it from strength to strength.

Companies will be given the opportunity to share strategies and ideas, whilst forming valuable connections that will benefit them in the future.

I spoke with Sasha Steinmann, one of the Market Entry bootcamps coordinators, about the event, and what attendees can expect.

Market Entry Bootcamp

Sasha informed me of what participants can look forward to, based on the different opportunities available:

“Startups will be engaged in an intensive matchmaking program involving corporate and ecosystem intros, pitches, and 1:1 meetings.

The program will be based at Kraftwerk, a former power station that has been converted into a unique collaboration and innovation space in the heart of Zurich.

The second day of the program, October 6th, will take place at the Startup Days organized by Startup Invest, and offers access to investors and ecosystem players, and an opportunity to observe startup and ecosystem pitches in Bern.

Our corporate partners will benefit from direct access to leading international startups that can help them accelerate their own ideas and digital transformation.

Confirmed digitalswitzerland corporate partners are: Adecco Group, APG, Coop, Chain IQ, CSS, Migros, EY, IBM, Oliver Wymann, PwC, Pure Storage, Sanitas, Smile Insurance, SPIE, Swisscom, Swiss Air, Swiss Post, Swisslife, UBS, Zurich Insurance and many others”.

To get the most out of the event, Sasha recommended that attendees take the time out to make new connections that could potentially lead to interesting business ventures:

“Use the chance and broaden your network. Get to know the different companies that are present, and try to make a good impression. Suggest any ideas you have, and really try to articulate why your idea is special and should be considered for investment”

Startups should apply until September 1st and 50 the most interesting ones will be invited to participate.

The Market Entry Bootcamp is taking place on October 5-6, 2020 in Switzerland (5.10 in Zurich and 6.10 in Bern)
