In June 2013, international lightweight rower, Claire Lambe, who had just completed her final year in mechanical engineering at University College Dublin (UCD), delivered a TEDxUCD talk.

The title of her TEDxUCD 2013 talk was Rio.

In her talk Claire explains that while she didn’t make it to London 2012 her ambition and focus for the next number of years is to make it to the Rio 2016 Olympics.

She also talks about the challenges she faced in the lead up to London Olympics, and the importance of channelling your energy, even in the face of disappointment, to the next big goal, which for her is Rio 2016.

Not only did Claire qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics, this afternoon along with Sinéad Lynch, she will represent Ireland in the final of the women’s lightweight double sculls.
