APNI Lion’s Den Competition 2023 is kicking off searching for entrepreneurs from the black & African communities who want to grow and develop their businesses. The deadline for submissions for the competition is on 18 April with the finale happening on 18 May.

Lions’ Den is organised in collaboration with Dublin City Council and Dogpatch labs and is supported by APNI corporate partners such as Enterprise Holdings, and Grant Thornton. These sponsors are dedicated to helping small minority owned businesses flourish and grow even in the current climate of economic uncertainty.
There is €12,000 worth of prizes available for the finalists through a combination of a cash prize of €7,000, 3-4 months of free co-working space, free workshops and a specialist Start Your Own Business Programme from their Local Enterprise Office.
Last year’s winner was Mama Shee, a food business helmed by Edizemi Onilenla who are pioneering Nigerian food at festivals and Irish supermarkets including SuperValu. This year, we are really keen to unlock businesses that are operating in IT related fields noting that many tech workers have been impacted by redundancies which could be a great springboard for entrepreneurship.
