The Learnovate Centre is delighted to announce LearnUpon as a new Patron Member of the global research and innovation centre in learning technologies.
Learnovate, an industry-led technology centre funded by Enterprise Ireland, provides thought leadership to the world’s learning and development community on the innovative use of learning technology. Based at Trinity College Dublin, it empowers organisations through the exploration and application of transformative technology solutions.
LearnUpon is the latest company to join Learnovate’s list of Patrons. This is the highest form of Learnovate membership and Patron Members sit on the organisation’s Thought Leaders’ Circle and participate in its Research Working Groups.
LearnUpon is an Irish-owned company which empowers organisations to train their employees, partners and customers via its cloud-based learning management system. The company employs 270 people across various sites in Ireland, Serbia, Australia and the United States, and expects to add an extra 130 staff to its workforce in the coming year.
LearnUpon was established in 2013 by Chief Technical Officer Des Anderson and Chief Executive Officer Brendan Noud, the pair growing the business from two separate sites – Belgrade, where Des lives with his wife and children, and Brendan’s home in Dublin.
The company implements a ‘follow the sun’ model with hubs covering every time zone to provide customers with 24/7 support. After Dublin and Belgrade, the US is the company’s third largest employment base, with staff in Philadelphia and Arizona giving way to customer service personnel in Sydney, Australia, which subsequently handover to their colleagues in Dublin.
Learnovate Centre Director Nessa McEniff said:
“LearnUpon is paving the way with its innovative, award-winning learning platform. We are delighted to have LearnUpon as a Patron Member of Learnovate; their contribution and input to our future of work and learning research agenda is invaluable”
LearnUpon CTO and co-founder Des Anderson said:
“We saw that being a Patron Member of Learnovate would give us access to an extensive learning community focused on many areas of innovation that we wanted to explore but couldn’t with the team we have. You can never have enough people so having Learnovate there supporting us and researching in new and interesting fields has been fantastic for us.”
