LauraLynn and Groupon Dublin Announce New Charity Partnership

Groupon Dublin announced today a long-term charity partnership with local Children’s Hospice charity LauraLynn. Groupon staff will volunteer, and raise awareness and funds for LauraLynn, enabling it to continue to improve paediatric palliative care in Ireland.

The fundraising activities will include activities from marathon participation to bag packing. The Groupon team will also be utilising the power and reach of the Groupon platform to raise funds, with a charity only donation deal running from 15^th July to the 23^rd July.

Seamus Moore, Customer Engagement Director, Groupon commented: “When choosing our charity for 2015/16 the staff here were keen to ensure it was a local cause. There are 3,840 children living with a life-limiting condition in Ireland, and each year about 320 of these children die. LauraLynn is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice providing paediatric palliative care in Ireland and the team is incredibly proud to be working with them.”

Speaking about the Groupon partnership, Sharon Morrow, LauraLynn Chief Executive said: “We are delighted to have been chosen by Groupon as their Charity Partner for 2015/16. At LauraLynn we care for children with life-limiting conditions, and their families, by providing high quality transitional care, home support, respite, crisis and end-of-life care.”

“Our approach is holistic ensuring that the whole family is supported, allowing parents to be ‘Mums and Dads’. We need to raise in excess of €3 million every year and fundraising partnerships such as this one with Groupon enable us to continue to provide our in-house hospice care as well as delivering our LauraLynn@HOME programme, our pilot hands-on nursing care in the comfort of a child’s home.”
