By @SimonCocking. Interesting upcoming event Launch’d, a unique one-day event aimed at supporting the next generation of technology entrepreneurs. Running in parallel with Coolest Projects, it will feature Ireland’s 100 top tech starts ups and over 50 top international speakers.

Among the speakers is Michael Hunger, caretaker of the Neo4J community, who will be talking about how his organisation helped to unravel the Panama Papers.
Seattle-based Dubliner Aidan Hughes is the developer of of the world’s most popular calculators, with more than 50 million combined downloads and 11 million monthly users and will be talking on the secrets of making it big in the app store.
Other speakers include tech thought leader James Lewis, Garry Lyons, Chief Innovation Officer at Mastercard Labs, John Ferguson, the Godfather of Behaviour Driven Development and Emmet Connolly, the creator of Google Wear.

Launch’d is all about taking ideas from young coders and innovators to the next level. The goal is to join the dots for the young innovators in showing them the route to commercial success.
Launch’d was created to spark and support the next evolution technology innovations that will help shape the future of CoderDojo members and technology as a whole.
100 of Ireland’s most exciting and innovative Tech Companies have been invited to showcase what makes them stand out and to highlight their unique genius. Launch’d aims bring together entrepreneurs, investors, industry, researchers, students, government and members of the public to connect create a path for Coolest Project members to launch their projects.

Launch’d aims to validate Ireland as a global technology hub and a magnet for tech businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs.
This one-day event at the RDS Dublin will showcase Ireland’s vibrant tech industry, build opportunities for businesses, encourage all industries to gain competitive advantage by connecting to the growing tech sector and celebrate all that is Tech Innovation.
There will be
- 60 Mentor Presentations
- 800 entries at Coolest Projects from Europe
- 100 Start Ups invited to showcase
- 10,000 Attendees from Ireland and Europe
Innovation first
Launch’d rewards and supports tech innovators first. The aim is to support and drive further innovation within CoderDojo community, and also support the wider community of innovators to create a culture of launching and realising innovations.

Skill focused talks
To be a successful technology innovator there is a host of skills required. The talks focus on technology, business, digital marketing, communication and funding themes to drive further innovation. Attendees will learn new technology techniques, while also gaining valuable insights from founders and innovators who have delivered amazing products to market.
Mentorship
There will be mentors from top game developers, to founders to innovation thought leaders to support and advise both CoderDojo participants and the start-ups up involved.
Input / Output
This is a community event to drive innovation though input and output, so come get involved, learn some new skills and implement them.
