Launch of Cork’s First commercial Podcast studio at Republic of Work

REPUBLIC OF WORK has formally launched its new podcast recording studio at 12 South Mall. The aim is to produce over 100 podcasts from the studio this year. Republic of Work will also be offering the studio to one charity every year to record a podcast. They will also be running a special podcast programme with schools.

There has been a dramatic increase in interest in podcasts in the commercial space, as companies try to tailor content specifically to customer’s needs. REPUBLIC OF WORK offers a series of podcasting products from straight-forward recording to the full production of ready-for-upload podcasts.  Figures show that more and more people are listening to podcasts every day – in the US 46% of people surveyed have listened to at least one podcast.

The broadcast quality studio – which is also used by national stations, TodayFM and Newstalk – is now available for businesses and individuals for hire. The target is to produce over 100 podcasts from the studio in its first year on topics ranging from innovation to recruitment, and education to entertainment.

Along with the physical facilities, REPUBLIC OF WORK also provides a range of production and editing options powered by experienced staff with radio backgrounds.

DC Cahalane from REPUBLIC OF WORK says “Sometime ago, we spotted a gap in the market for podcast production. While podcasts can be produced virtually anywhere, this is a unique purpose-built facility that operates to the highest broadcasting standard. This guarantees a high-quality end product, that can help sell and promote products and businesses.”

“We will also be offering the podcast every year to one charity so that they can record a podcast to promote the work they do and we will be inviting charities to apply for this shortly. In addition to this, we are very excited about a schools programme we are preparing which will see students get first-hand experience recording and producing podcasts.”

First up in the studio, REPUBLIC OF WORK is kicking things off by launching its own podcast, Innovate, that will cover a range of global, national and local news, interviews and what’s going on a REPUBLIC OF WORK.
