A leading US technology company is seeking to recruit an experienced Front End Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have excellent design and programming skills with a good understanding of how to use them to deliver quality user-friendly Software.

R&D in new areas of technology will often be required, so a keen interest in constantly adapting and developing your skill set will be very important. Our preference is for someone who has worked in an Agile environment within a fast-paced development schedule. We welcome professional individuals who are creative thinkers. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Developing high quality, efficient code to meet business needs
• To design and develop UI/App/Web apps ensuring strong optimization and functionality
• Liaise with the delivery Team to release software to our production environments
• Functionally testing all developed code to a very high standard to enable QA to test efficiently
• Researching and proposing appropriate new technologies to meet business challenges
• Developing UI/App/Web with high levels of usability targeting specific audiences
• Report on progress daily via daily stand up
• Support all development streams i.e. BAU, critical issues, projects etc
• Analyse, review and modify systems by maintaining, documenting, testing, developing and monitoring. Skills & Experience required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar
• 3+ years of front-end development experience
• Demonstrable experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, node.js, SQL, AJAX
• Ability to slice and dice PSD files
• Front end developers with an eye for design – the ability to realise a design / UX wireframe
• Experience with the following technologies will be a distinct advantage:

HTML5

Micro Services Architecture

Phonegap/Xamarin

AngularJS

RequireJS or Backbone

• Experienced in full lifecycle web-based development : designing, building, implementing and optimizing
• Experience in developing responsive/adaptive design
• Experience in version control systems, ideally Subversion
• Experience with Unit Testing
• Good communication skills are key, with the ability to translate technical plans and ideas into language that non-technical people can understand
• Ability to create clean, well-documented and efficient code
• You must be thorough and precise in your work
• Desire to stay updated on current and new technologies and its effects to the business environment.
• You must be able to operate effectively in a team atmosphere within a fast-paced development schedule
• Experience in developing websites or web applications for mobile devices is required Education & Qualification

Location: Waterford | Salary: €40K – €55K DOE
