When and where is it on?

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2021 is running virtually from the 4th to the 7th May. Registration is open.

How many years has it been going?

Since the first CNCF-hosted KubeCon + CloudNativeCon in November 2016. This will be the sixth year.

What was the inspiration to start it?

The inspiration behind KubeCon + CloudNativeCon is to connect the cloud native community and further the education and advancement of cloud native computing.

What exciting things can people look forward to?

Experts from organizations including Adobe, Apple, CERN, NVIDIA, and OVHcloud will deliver 100+ sessions, keynotes, lightning talks, and breakout sessions. There will also be more than 60 sessions hosted by project maintainers – spanning beginner-level introductions, end user case studies, and technical deep dives.

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

The schedule includes something for everyone – whether you’re a seasoned expert or just starting out with cloud native technology.

Who will be speaking?

The community-curated schedule will feature sessions from leading open source technologists, including:

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

The CNCF team pulled together a blog post on getting the most out of KubeCon + CloudNativeCon virtual – which can be summed up as:

Build your agenda early: Explore the KubeCon agenda and pinpoint the top few sessions you must attend. Create invites on your calendar and protect the time.

Dig into the KubeCon agenda and pinpoint the 5 sessions that you find most compelling and then come to those sessions with questions.

Take incredible notes

Get your swag on: Pull out a vintage KubeCon 2017 t-shirt, don your branded socks and guzzle from your most envy-inspiring water bottle.

Socialize: Find the Slack channels for your favoured KubeCon tracks and hang out there to trade ideas with peers
