Martin Eastwood of Wide Variety reviews Killer Visual Strategies, a book which deals with modern phenomena of visual content and how it is more appealing to today’s audience
It is believed that 91% of today’s audiences prefer visual content over any other form of content.
With that in mind, it is crucially important for marketers to understand how to effectively deliver their messages visually.
This what they will learn in this book. How to effectively distribute information visually for worldwide audiences.
What immediately stood out upon receiving the physical copy is the shape, size, and design which is quite unique.
It stands out from the rest, just as you would expect from a book with such a title.
I appreciated the layout as the reader does not need to read from cover to cover to gain value.
You can quickly jump in and out of any section and apply that individual strategy immediately as each chapter opens with a different rule about visual communication.
Key takeaways are listed at the end of each chapter which makes it easier to retain the information and also proves very handy to refer back to the various chapters and recap what you learned.
One of my favourite leaning points in the book was the fact that ‘90% of our capacity for processing nonconscious information is taken up by the visual systems’.
This puts into perspective the importance of communicating visually in order to obtain the best possible result.
Killer Visual Strategies aims to empower the reader to proudly say:
‘’I am not a graphic designer. I am a visual strategist’’ and I believe that this book has all the ingredients to achieve this mission. If you are responsible for the marketing of a business or organization, you should definitely pick up a copy of this book right away.
