KIKR S1 Review – 2 in 1 Phone Holder and Dual Wireless Charger

The KIKR S1 is a phone or tablet holder that comes with two wireless chargers built-in. KIKR are a small start-up company and the S1 is their first product launch which is currently funding on Kickstarter.

KIKR sent us an S1 to review before its launch, read on to see how we’ve been getting on with it.

Design

The KIKR S1 is designed to be portable so the stand folds neatly for carrying in your bag. The majority of the unit is made from durable white plastic and in the hand it feels well made.

The hinges for unfolding it and for the angling for your device have a nice stiffness to them so the S1 holds your device steady at the angle you place it at.

The overall height of the device can be adjusted as can the feet for holding your phone or tablet to accommodate larger devices.

The wireless chargers are located in the base of the device where you can see the KIKR logo and also on the upper stand.

Around the back of the device, there is a USB C port for power.

How does the KIKR S1 perform?

The sweet spot for the charger over the logo is very easy to find. For the one the upper stand, you will have to play around with the height adjustments to see what works for your device.

For example, testing it with a Galaxy Z Fold 2, when you extend the legs to full height and place the device on it folded it charges perfectly. If I unfold the phone though the place it on the charger I can’t get the sweet spots to line up on both devices. For the vast majority of phones, this will perform perfectly but your mileage will vary with larger devices.

I put an energy meter in line with the USB C cable and both pads could deliver 10 volts as advertised and the S1 was capable of crawling 20 volts with two devices being charged at the same time.

Overall the KIKR S1 performs well for wireless charging and having 2 wireless charging pads in one device is very convenient.

Conclusion

The KIKR S1 is a well-made device that’s easy to recommend for people who regularly charge more than one device wirelessly. Even for those who don’t, the stand is very convenient for positioning your phone on your desk or bedside locker.

The device is available to back now on Kickstarter.
