it@cork appoints Senior Cluster Manager

We are delighted to welcome Eoghan O’Mahony to it@cork as Senior Cluster Manager. This new full-time Enterprise Ireland supported executive appointment comes at an exciting time for it@cork as they continue to develop the existing technology cluster in the south of Ireland and foster collaboration between member companies.

Eoghans’ role will help to further develop a fully functioning tech cluster in the south-west region which services the ICT sector and the companies which support it. Attracting a lot of inward investment in the southwest region is quickly becoming a centre of excellence for technology and it@cork seek to foster and support policies and actions which will attract the highest levels of talent and foreign direct investment.

Speaking about his new role, Eoghan said: ‘I am excited and honoured to join it@cork in the role as Senior Cluster Manager and to build on the tremendous work to date of the board. The pace of change in technology is exceptional and with change brings great opportunity. With a diverse and talented workforce, a strong cluster of blue-chip multinationals and a thriving startup and SME ecosystem, I believe that Cork and the south-west technology sector is uniquely positioned to capitalise on these new and emerging opportunities. I am passionately committed to elevating Cork and the south-west region as a forerunner in global technology clusters’.

Enterprise Ireland’s Regional Director for South and South East Regions, Martin Corkery welcomed the announcement of Eoghan O’Mahony as the  full time cluster manager for it@cork. Funding for this role was approved under the Regional Economic Development Fund which is managed by Enterprise Ireland. Mr. Corkery stated that “it@cork has made a major contribution to the growth of the Tech sector in Cork since its formation over 20 years ago and with significant growth planned for the region over the next two decades, the work and initiatives undertaken by it@cork will be hugely important to ensure Cork continues to be recognised as a great place for technology companies to start, innovate and grow.  We wish Eoghan O’Mahony well in his role as cluster manager and we look forward to working closely with it@cork over the coming years.”
