ISA Safe Trx Smartphone App

The recent good weather spell that most people will have enjoyed, attracted thousands onto and into our waterways, sadly it also led to an increase in drownings with five people drowning in just one week in early July! This prompted warnings from groups such as Water Safety Ireland, The RNLI and The Irish Coast Guard urging people to exercise caution when swimming etc but also the importance of planning properly any sailing, canoeing and angling trips.

A new smartphone app, available on the AppStore and on Google Play, called ISA Safe Trx now makes this planning even easier. The app is the official app of the Irish Sailing Association, designed in close cooperation with Search And Rescue (SAR) professionals and as such I would urge the seafarers amongst us to check it out. You can also get more information here and on the Facebook page here.
