Greeted by a glass of Prosecco and a smile, I stepped through the gate and entered a beautiful garden patio filled with pleasant entrepreneurs eager to chit chat. I was delighted to attend the #IrishBizParty website launch party on Wednesday the 15th July, in the stunning Mulberry Garden, D4.

#IrishBizParty started on Twitter, when Samantha (@Tweetinggoddess) idly tweeted asking small businesses to tweet about what they do including the #irishbizparty hashtag, and then she would retweet them. Fast forward to today and every Wednesday evening from 9-11pm businesses from all over Ireland are retweeting each other and building more and more contacts online.

It has grown so much, that they now have launched a website –

You can join the group for €5 per month or an annual membership fee of €50. The benefits include:

  • Discounts for events, conferences, products and services
  • Access for forums and group chats
  • Access to a huge business network
  • Member badge for your website and other promotional material
  • RTs to over 35k followers on Twitter from the #IrishBizParty accounts

You also have a chance to be #Starbiz, which is a once a week opportunity to share anything and everything about yourself and your business to the #IrishBizParty audience.

By talking to the attendees and listening to their stories, it’s clear that #IrishBizParty has played a big part in the development of their businesses, both on and offline. Business cards were swapped and plans were made to help with websites or content development, and offers to help new starters were exchanged with no expectations.

There is a wide vibrant community of business owners in Ireland, and long may it continue with #IrishBizParty.

Some members of the #IrishBizParty team were in attendance, Samantha (@tweetinggoddess), Chris (@thebrandgeeks), Brian (@avantechlabs) and Neil (Studio Lugh) to name a few.

I had the opportunity to meet many amazing people, including the ‘Flower Girls’ (@FlowerSchoolIE, @BroochBouquetIE) and Health and Nutrition expert Fiona (@FionaMontague)

Tunes on the night were provided by @AllCharityRadio who broadcast live online and on Periscope.

Given that this all started on Twitter, people spent a lot of time on their phones! The party was lively in Mulberry Garden, and on the #IrishBizParty hashtag!
