#IrishBizParty Continues to Soar

Every Wednesday night between 9 and 11, Twitter is taken over by a group of SMEs connecting under the hashtag #IrishBizParty. Irish Biz Party is the brainchild of Samantha Kelly, or as she is better known on Twitter @TweetingGoddess.

Sick of the nonsense and cost associated with many networking events, Samantha came up with the novel idea of creating a Twitter meetup for people who found themselves in similar situations.

Now every week you can find hundreds of SMEs connecting under the hashtag, sharing their stories and promoting their products or services in a cost free, welcoming environment.

The positivity and energy exuded by participants is infectious and we regularly stop by on Wednesday nights to keep up to date with the local SME community.

The scheduled 2 hour event produces some amazing statistics on Twitter every week. Newcomers to the event are generally blown away by the pace of new tweets, but thankfully for them, regular attendees are happy to share the methods they have devised to cope with the onslaught!

2 hours of Intensity!

This week was no different as you can see in the stats below. Here we look at the impact of tweets that contained both the #IrishBizParty tag and the #Bigredcloud tag. Big Red Cloud were one of the featured businesses at the meetup last night.

One of the great things about #IrishBizParty is that it is inclusive of everyone. There are businesses from every sector conversing, many whom would never cross paths without this gathering.

Of course one of the aims each week is to get featured companies trending and that was certainly achieved last night. In fact as I write this now #Bigredcloud is still trending in Ireland!

If you are a small business or just want to find out about what products or services are on offer in your area you should stop by next Wednesday night. In the run up to Christmas many businesses have promotions running (take a look here #BuyFromAnSMEThisXmas) and with everything that is on offer you might find some nice gift ideas!
