Irish Tech Start Up BIZIMPLY scoops both top prizes at the Web Summit

Dublin-based tech startup Bizimply won both of the top startup prizes at this year’s Web Summit. The company was awarded first prize in the 2015 ESB Spark of Genius Award on the Marketing Stage, before being announced the overall winner of the Audi Pitch Competition on the main Centre Stage later in the afternoon on Thursday.

This is the first time that the same company has won both of these accolades.

Bizimply is a cloud-based software-as-a-service company, providing workforce management software to businesses with hourly paid employees.

Having come out of beta at the end of 2014, Bizimply is now used at hundreds of locations across 11 countries in restaurants, cafe?s, bars, hotels and retailers, as well as businesses in the childcare, manufacturing, beauty and healthcare sectors. The company is now set to scale, focussing on sales into the UK and US markets over the next 12-18 months.

The ESB Spark of Genius Award focuses on high potential technology start-ups, and is open to all early stage Irish tech companies. Now in its sixth year, the ESB Spark of Genius Award is recognised as Ireland’s most prominent start-up competition and, as overall winners, Bizimply receives a cash prize of €25,000.

The Audi PITCH competition ran across 4 stages, over the 3 days of the Web Summit. Over 1,200 early stage tech companies from across the world applied to this year’s competition, with 200 of those having the chance to deliver their pitches live at the Web Summit.
