Team Horizon, the global life-science services firm, with an expert focus on pharma and biopharma manufacturing processes, has expanded its global footprint with the announcement of a new office in Philadelphia. The company’s core expertise is in high demand in North America with an established client base in Texas, North Carolina and Canada. By the second half of next year, the company plans to have 10 employees in the Philadelphia office and an increase of 20% in its Irish workforce.
Over the past four years, the company has successfully project-managed over €250m in capital projects and has developed a reputation as specialists in aseptic fill-finish, oral dose, serialization, and primary and secondary packaging. Anticipated growth in these areas, coupled with requests from current life science clients for additional “local” resources spurred the decision.
Founded in Westport, Ireland in 2010, Team Horizon specializes in engineering solutions for the fill-finish, primary, secondary and tertiary packaging elements of the manufacturing lifecycle. The company currently employs 55 people and has successfully built a reputation as a business with an in-depth knowledge of manufacturing. Almost 50 of their staff are engineers or scientists with experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Team Horizon’s specialist engineering company has two divisions: project management/engineering services and contract services.
Aiden Corcoran, CEO, Horizon Life Sciences Group explains the decision to expand to Philadelphia: “To grow a sustainable business, it was decided to create a permanent presence in the U.S. We invested significant time in assessing the North American market and researching preferred locations to establish our office. Philadelphia is home to world-class research institutes and life-science companies, including a cluster of pharma and biopharma headquarters and plants. Our decision was also influenced by the support we have received from economic development agencies and the Irish-American business community in Philadelphia. The quality and commitment of our staff base in Westport, Dublin and Philadelphia, will continue to be one of our most valuable assets.”
The company’s engineering division are experts in equipment lifecycle management, in addition to its engineering solutions, the company’s contract services division recruits and places qualified and experienced engineers on a short-term or long-term basis to address the capacity or capability needs of its clients.
