Irish Innovation during the covid-19 pandemic, Health Innovation Hub

Health Innovation Hub Ireland’s COVID-19 Solutions Portal has captured nearly 200 innovations. Working with our government partners- DBEI, DoH, HSE and EI many of these solutions have now been implemented to support healthcare during the pandemic.

As we tackle the Covid-19 healthcare challenge, Irish owned businesses and innovations are having an impact on every aspect of healthcare during this pandemic. Here is a sample of a few of the companies making a difference on the front line.

Working through HSE Digital transformation, Wellola’s online patient portal now enables virtual GP visits so that patients can see their doctors without the risk of infection.

Wellola has also supported the delivery of counselling and mental health services through their on-line platform.

In Nursing Homes- Zendra Health’s Staff Care mobile app allows staff to self-screen to reduce the risk of infection.

ViClarity has provided free access to a H.I.Q.A. COVID-19 Outbreak Preparedness Audit Tool for all Irish Nursing Homes, with more than 75 centres are already enrolled.

In Hospitals Trimedika’s contactless thermometers are being used by thousands of healthcare staff.

PMD solutions have developed ‘Respirasense’, a remote respiratory monitoring device that can detect a change in a patient’s condition before it becomes a problem.

Bensons workwear is one of the many companies supplying PPE gowns to frontline staff.

Salaso Health’s physiotherapy software programme helps patients in their recovery from COVID-19.

Supported by HSE Digital Transformation, Patient MPower’s app remotely monitors a patient’s respiratory condition, assisting patients during COVID-19 recovery.

Yellow Schedule has enabled access for patients to mental health and counselling through their remote online portal.

And the innovation continues, the HIHI COVID-19 innovation portal has identified 200 new businesses ideas. Together we are contributing to Ireland’s response to Covid-19 and fuelling Ireland’s innovative future.
